The download options separate the arranged calendar from its event data. PDF and PNG show the designed page; event CSV provides rows for a spreadsheet. Keep a JSON project backup when you need an editable copy as well.

Choose the right format

Use PDF for a document with defined pages. Use PNG when you need a calendar image. Use Events CSV when you want to inspect or reuse the event data in a spreadsheet. ICS is available for date-based calendar-app imports and has its own guide.

An event file does not preserve the visual layout, and an image does not preserve the editable project structure. Choose the format for your next task instead of assuming that any download can later be reopened as a MonthSprig project.

Review the paper and display settings

In the preview, check A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape, margins, color or black-and-white output, and whether notes and the event legend are included. Read the output summary after changing a setting. The default paper background remains white even when the surrounding editor uses a dark theme.

A4 landscape measures 297 × 210 mm. An A4 landscape PNG at 300 pixels per inch is approximately 3508 × 2480 pixels. The physical page size and image pixel size describe different things. A receiving image viewer may resize a PNG when printing, so inspect its print preview as well.

Inspect the full output range

For a monthly page, check the final row and the longest event label. For a year or academic range, inspect every month heading and the first and last pages. A useful multi-page document has the intended months in order, without a repeated or missing page.

Check which page or pages the selected image output includes. Use PDF when you need the complete multi-page document in one file. If an event crosses a page boundary, review both sides of the span. Keep its full dates in the project rather than shortening it to fit one sheet.

Wait for completion or cancel safely

Start the download and read the progress feedback. A multi-page export can take longer than a single sheet. Do not start several copies of the same job while the first one is still running. If you cancel, the editable project should remain available so you can change settings or try again.

If the export reports an error, keep the project open. Review the message and retry after correcting the identified problem. A failure should not show a success state or remove the events. Download a JSON backup if you need to preserve the work before investigating further.

Check the actual downloaded file

Open the file and confirm the title, date range, page count and readable event text. For CSV, check that commas, quotation marks and line breaks stayed inside the intended fields. Formula-like user text requires safe handling when opening the file in a spreadsheet; do not assume a quoted cell can never be interpreted as a formula.

A file already on your device is a snapshot. If you edit dates, labels or paper settings afterward, download a new version. Use clear names so an older PDF or image is not mistaken for the current calendar, and retain the JSON source when future editing matters.
